Tubohotel - Concrete Tubes In Mexico

Location:

Tepoztlán Mexico North America
CapsuleEco-FriendlyHostel

This hotel does exactly what it says on the tin, I mean, tube. Ever wanted to sleep in a concrete tube? No? Well you wouldn’t be unusual in that respect but these aren’t just any concrete tubes, they are the latest in hotel design with glass fronting that open straight into fantastic scenery.

Inside there are cozy beds, linen, and soft lighting. Toilets and showers are in a separate building. “The tubes were just lying there doing nothing,” says Robb Anderson, the hotel owner, in the Daily Mail. “So one day we asked if we could use them, they said yes so we decided to make a hotel.”

Anderson’s hotel is a favorite among recyclers but it’s not just for eco-warriors, “Our market is more the traveler and hostel-style but we have all sorts of people coming here because it is so unusual,” he said. Luckily the tubes are thermic and keep a stable temperature day and night and if you don’t fancy using the hotel’s barbeque there is a fancy restaurant nearby.
