Retro on the outside and modern on the inside, The Pink Hotel brings life to the Gold Coast region with its beautifully flashy façade. The Australian Barbie house has a motel-style room arrangement, and it's only a few hundred meters from the beach.
Just south of Brisbane lies the Gold Coast, or as locals would call it, the "Goldy." This popular city and region is famous for its towering skyscrapers, 300 days of sunshine a year, golden sand beaches, and perfect waves, making it a surfer's paradise.
The Gold Coast is a city and region located between Brisbane in the north and Byron Bay in the south. It is the sixth largest city in Australia and stretches about 60 kilometers from Beenleigh and Russell Island to the border with New South Wales.
The region also has plenty of nature to explore, like Mount Tamborine, with its lush rainforests, babbling brooks, and swirling waterfalls.

The most popular area is Surfers Paradise; however, if you prefer a quieter place, Coolangatta, with a population of just over 5,000, is a better choice.

The southernmost part of the Gold Coast, with six beaches, has great surfing and snorkeling spots.

The Pink Hotel is located at the tip of Coolangatta, steps away from the pretty Greenmount Beach.

It's situated within a renovated 1960s motel building, freshly painted in a vibrant pink hue that demands attention.

The three-story building stands out not with its height, as most structures do on the Gold Coast, but with its rock' n'roll style.

King Room
The Instagram star hotel opened its doors in 2018 after a significant transformation from its original state as the "Coolangatta Ocean View Motel."

The rooms have hand-painted art on their walls by local artist Jamie Peters, such as fan art of movies (for example, Leon the Professional), a modern interpretation of the Greek goddess Medusa with flamingos on her head, and some erotic drawings.

Every room has its unique identity with individually designed interiors, including murals and neon lighting with trendy inscriptions.

Medusa Suite
No matter which room you book, you'll get a flamingo-imprinted set of bathrobes so you can exit the bathroom in style. Or the building if you feel like needing some attention!

Artist Suite

The two-bedroom Artist Suite is the biggest, and it comes with a private balcony, a white piano and a four-person dining table.

Rooftop Terrace
The Cuban-style rooftop terrace is the Pink Hotel's chill spot.

Here, you can order an ice-cold cocktail from the wooden shack and sit on a white bench overlooking the skyline and beaches of Coolangatta.

The white sandy beach across the Marine Parade that you can see from the rooftop terrace has plenty of space for sunbathing and is one of the top surfing places.

If you had enough of the panoramic views and want some more action, Eddie's Grub House is where all the buzz happens with live music throughout the whole week.
The bar that sells mouthwatering burgers is at the back of the Pink Hotel, well separated from the rooms but close enough to jump in whenever you feel like socializing.
