The Fig Lobby is among Bangkok's coolest and most unique hotels, where the "ambassadors" ensure you are well cared for during your stay in the contemporary art-filled, whimsical building that looks like it stepped right out of a cartoon.
Its vibrant design is a Thai interpretation of Hundertwasser's signature style. The walls and ceilings are plastered with colorful, ornamental, and biomorphic shapes. The colors used throughout The Fig Lobby symbolize the zinc buildings of the Klong Toey community.
The artsy hotel is located in the Khlong Toei neighborhood. This is where the busy Sukhumvit Road is, with many posh hotels, upmarket restaurants, and shopping malls. The hotel has easy public transportation access with the nearby Queen Sirikit MRT station. It is also close to Benjakitti Park and Khlong Toei Market.

The Fig Lobby has a cheekily young owner who was born into a family dealing with real estate and quickly became captivated by hotels.
Since childhood, Ploy-Chalisa Tienphothong has been passionate about hotels. After studying hotel management, she fulfilled her dream of hotel ownership with The Fig Lobby. This unique space reflects her identity and interests, transforming the hotel experience into an artistic showcase.
Her concept of a hotel is different from what you are used to. Everything that's not your room is a "fluid space", and events are often organized in the lobby, restaurant, and rooftop terrace.
One of the hotel chains that inspired her was the 25Hours Hotels.

The word 'Fig' refers to the first fruit created according to Christian belief (it's also the earliest known cultivated fruit crop) and is the plant that Adam and Eve used to cover their genitals. The hotel is called "Lobby" because it's the heart of the hotel, where everything happens.

The Lobby
Throughout the building, from the entrance to the bathrooms, you can observe all the artistic elements as if you were in a museum. The Fig Lobby collaborates with artists through an Artist Residency project, helping them earn income by selling their artwork.

You'll be greeted with a free ice cream upon arrival.

The staff - or, as they are officially called, ambassadors - are some of the friendliest people you will meet in any hotel. They have an incredible knowledge of the surroundings and will help you find local restaurants that aren't mentioned on TripAdvisor, and you would never be able to find them.

It's impossible to get bored in Bangkok, but if you want to attend some activities inside the hotel, they run pottery and art classes in its ceramics studio. You can learn how to make mouth-shaped mugs that you can find in the guest rooms and are sold in the Lobby Shop along with other artistic souvenirs.

The hotel has a restaurant with a disco ball, popcorn, and a bar area with games.

It has an all-day dining option and a street art design that might appear vandalized by tags and graffiti, but of course, it is all intentional.

The Fig Lobby is a boutique hotel with 68 rooms and eight distinct types of accommodations. Even the toilets and flip-flops are custom-made to align with the hotel's theme. These slippers can be used as regular footwear - both indoor and outdoor use - and if you want to look like a local, they complement a stylish Thai accessory: the rainbow plastic bag.

Most of the snacks in the room are sourced from Thailand, including dried bananas, salted peanuts, and Thai alcoholic beverages.

Next to the reception counter is an Indian spa that uses the science of massaging the body's chakra points with Crystal Oil from energy stones in the massage.
