Saint Lucia is an Eastern Caribbean island nation with a population of 185,000 and is known for its breathtaking beauty. This island is also home to Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort, a luxury resort & hotel complete with a world-class Rainforest Spa, an entire professional dive facility, and waterfront restaurants. The resort sits near the ruins of an 18th-century sugar mill, hence ‘Sugar Beach.’ The resort was also recently named one of the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hotels in the Caribbean.

Okay, so what is it that makes Sugar Beach just so enticing?

To start, there are several luxury accommodations to choose from. Depending on the size of your group, you may opt for a guest room, villa, Beachfront bungalow, or Residences. The bungalows feature a private courtyard with an outdoor shower and Jacuzzi, a private shaded area with sun lounges, table, and chairs -- plus personalized butler service! If you are going all out, stay in one of the resort’s residences -- ranging from 1-4 bedrooms. Rooms are decorated in bright whites with wood floors, high beam ceilings, and Victorian bathtubs. The resort also offers Pilates and boot camp-style fitness classes and tennis, beach volleyball, and more!

While you may be reluctant to leave your luxury accommodations, there is so much to explore on this lovely island, and the resort offers many tours and activities for guests to enjoy. History buffs can go on a tour to learn more about 18th Century Plantation Life, while adventure seekers can hike to the summit of Gros Piton. Hikers will be rewarded with a delicious local BBQ made by Chef Esnard.

Sure, Sugar Beach is a perfect romantic getaway - but families are more than welcome too! There's a program of supervised daytime activities for those with children aged 4-12, including glass-bottom boat excursions and shell collecting. So everyone can enjoy the sweet paradise of Sugar Beach!

Palacio del Inka, Cusco - Inside a 500-Year-Old Mansion: Stone, Gold, and a Baby Alpaca Named Inti

Most hotels describe themselves as historic. Palacio del Inka was a palace, then a Spanish colonial mansion, then a museum, and is now asking if you'd like a pisco sour.
