Rustic and enchanting is the first thought that will cross through your mind when you visit the early colonial settlement of Tyringham, Massachusetts. Even more enchanting is the former sculptor’s studio that has been magically transformed into a quaint one-bedroom cottage known as the Silo Suite. From the moment you start the drive up to the cottage you feel like you have been transported into the magical lands of a storybook.
Situated on 4 acres of land, the Silo Cottage is surrounded by ponds for swimming and kayaking and trails for hiking or just a meandering nature walk. The air carries the aroma of the many beautiful gardens and is filled with the sound of a babbling brook. The bedroom is located upstairs, with the surrounding wooded area giving it a treehouse effect. A heated queen-size bed ensures you those peaceful nights of sleep you may have been lacking. The downstairs hosts a sitting room, wet bar, microwave, fridge, and bath.
It would be no surprise to find a bottle of champagne waiting for you in the cottage refrigerator and the host ready to greet you with a smile on her face. It is clear much time and love was put into designing this one-of-a-kind retreat. Whether you’re there to soak up history, get back to nature, or want to escape into a storybook, you’ll be enchanted.
