Based in West Europe’s tallest building, the Shard, Shangri-La London is a luxury hotel that has been called “a new level of luxury”. According to the Telegraph’s “Luxury” section, “Rooms sizes range from 323-2024 square feet (30-188 square meters) and are among the largest in London.
Standard across all rooms are marble-clad bathrooms with heated floors, Acqua di Parma amenities, and mirrors with integrated television screens.” Indeed, some of the showers are even located next to a plate glass wall that falls away to nothingness.
The restaurant, Ting overlooks the Thames and serves a modern British menu with an Asian influence and the Gong bar is the place to socialize. And the location is excellent too with London’s best sites, from the South Bank to Soho, within walking distance. You might need a car to get to the financial district of Canary Wharf but another option is to cruise there in James Bond-style in a Thames speedboat.
