The San Francisco Proper Hotel is housed in a historic flatiron building in the emerging Mid-Market neighborhood. The world-famed designer Kelly Wearstler was behind the creative works on San Francisco's newest boutique hotel.
Her previous works include the Viceroy Miami, and she is famous for using old-style stately wallpapers.
So, people with wallpaper-fetish will drool all over San Francisco Proper's interiors' strikingly colorful and diverse walls. And when it's not wallpapers, the elegant walls are decorated with a mind-blowing collection of contemporary paintings, as in the hotel's impressive lounge.
The elegant lounge's walls are plastered with artworks, and the large space is filled with various designer sofas. It's an eclectic but surprisingly cozy space to relax or grab some food.
The rooms are designed in a nostalgic retro style with a modern twist. One thing is for sure they are unique!

The historic flatiron building in San Francisco is a sight to behold!

The Proper Hotel is a super hip hotel with a beautiful lobby and bar. You can also eat well or have a drink here and enjoy the view from the roof terrace of the Proper Hotel.

The lobby restaurant is salon-style and serves seasonal American dishes.

The compact, 172 square feet (16 square meters) Bunk Room is the most affordable, but it doesn't lack the charm and style of the others.

Mid-century European-inspired furniture and Kelly Wearstler-designed wallpapers dominate the style of the rooms.

The seemingly mish-mash choice of carpets, wallpapers, and modern furniture starts to make sense when you look at it long enough. Crazy? Yes. Bold? Sure. Boring? Definitely not!

On the rooftop, the cocktail lounge Charmaine tempts you with fire pits, delicious cocktails, and fantastic views of the city.

The Charmaine's Rooftop Lounge & Bar is jaw-droppingly cool.

One of San Francisco's best rooftop bars serves handcrafted drinks 120 feet (37 meters) above Market Street.

The bar has an all-day menu and original cocktails with vibrant flavors. At night, the cozy fire pits elevate the laid-back atmosphere.
