This newly restored hotel was first opened in 1927 and brought luxury to the distant western coast of Canada. Over the years celebrities such as Elvis, Frank Sinatra, and Katharine Hepburn have visited this grand hotel.
The restoration cost over $120 million and no wonder when you consider the art deco lobby has a chandelier with more than 24,000 Lily-cut Swarovski crystals. The hotel is packed with art with 200 pieces on display including a work by Damien Hurst. The fine-dining restaurant serves contemporary cuisine by one of Canada’s most celebrated chefs.
The rooms are classic and comfortable with wood panels, Nespresso machines, and rain-showers. The spa has a massive gym, a 52-foot saltwater pool, and lots of treatment rooms. There is even a private Bentley and driver to take you into town or out to do activities such as bicycling and wild swimming. There are also beaches to visit, ancient forests, and the famous Vancouver Aquarium.
