This hotel was first conceived as a place for a group of friends to live together. Then they decided to make it into a hotel where everything is made by the darlings of Berlin’s burgeoning art scene. So expect the unexpected.
The hotel rule book has been cut up and used to make a lampshade – literally. The communal living areas are packed with books and locals drinking coffee and using the free wi-fi. The breakfasts, I am told, are excellent and the welcome is warm. The downstairs spa, coffee bar, and spacious rooms are set against exposed brickwork with huge windows. The interior has all been sourced from flea markets and reclaimed material which decorate the converted warehouse located in the eclectic style of post-modern interiors.
It is not located in the obvious touristy areas of Berlin but much closer to the city’s beating heart where there are great nightclubs and trendy people doing fun things.
