Le Grand
MazarinA new luxury hotel in Paris, Le Grand Mazarin, is Maisons Pariente's first property in the city and is located a few blocks from Cathédrale Notre-Dame.
The hotel is in the historic Marais district, known for its vibrant cultural identity. Victor Hugo used to call this neighborhood his home, and it's famous for its romantic cobblestone streets that are lined with art galleries, museums, and upscale restaurants.
The joyfully eclectic hotel hiding inside the typically Parisian corner building consists of 61 rooms (including 11 suites), a restaurant, bars, a winter garden, a wellness area, and a swimming pool.
Upon entering the reception area, your eyes will be drawn to the magnificent hexagonal floor parquet. The room is beautifully adorned with unique antiques, including a 19th-century European wedding wardrobe acquired from the UK, which stands in the corner.
Le Grand Mazarin is a masterful blend of vintage furniture, fixtures, classic paintings, rugs, and lamps with borderline cartoonish elements, all of which create a truly unique and elegant environment.
The vintage furniture adds a touch of nostalgia and timeless beauty to the space, while the classic paintings bring a sense of sophistication and culture. The rugs and lamps add warmth and coziness, making visitors feel welcome and at home. And finally, the playful elements provide a whimsical touch that adds a touch of fun and lightheartedness to the overall atmosphere.
The hotel owes this to the creative mind, Martin Brudnizki and a collaboration with talented French artisans responsible for the interior's contemporary elements.
The ambiance of Le Grand Mazarin is reminiscent of the opulent aristocratic era of Parisian villas, where the crème de la crème of society would gather to socialize and network. The exquisite spaces of this fine hotel exude an air of sophistication and elegance that transports you back in time.
It's a place where visionaries, political leaders, trailblazers, and creative minds from various fields would come together to exchange ideas and inspire each other, all while indulging in the finest luxuries that the city of Paris had to offer.
The hotel staff strikes the perfect balance between being laid-back and attentive.
The Boubalé Bar and Restaurant nods to Paris's old Jewish quarter.
Its name stands for "my little darling" in Yiddish, and it's run by the Israeli Michelin-starred chef Assaf Granit. Expect Middle Eastern and Ashkenazi Jewish classics like baba ganoush or challah.
Accidentally Wes Anderson
The eye-popping interior design of Le Grand Mazarin is like a journey into the world of Parisian-style macarons, which are filled with tasty ganache, buttercream, and jam and topped with colorful icing.
The sweet little confections were baked and decorated by Wes Anderson - judging by the hotel's color palette.
You can admire a collection of nearly 500 artworks scattered across the hotel every step of the way.
Superior Room
The rooms and suites, from the smallest to the most luxurious, have beautifully painted vintage wardrobes, original "portes-fenêtres" (window doors), floral tapestry canopies over the beds, and unique furniture by the French brand Art de Lys.
