The rooms were originally designed to accommodate kings, presidents, celebrities, and other guests of the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929, and that opulent decor still remains down to the marble and wood floors.

All rooms feature marble and copper and white tiled bathrooms, while some rooms have Juliet balconies or private terraces.

The interior offers a display of wealth and status from the arches and columns, hanging lamps, and fine carpets from the Royal Tapestry Factory.

Hotel Alfonso XIII Seville - Neo-Mudéjar Palace in Andalucia

The building of Hotel Alfonso XIII was designed by architect José Espiau y Muñoz, who was one of the leading representatives of regionalist architecture. Construction started in 1916 and ended twelve years later, with an official inauguration in 1929.

Before it opened to guests, a wedding of Prince Jan Zamoyski and Princess Isabel Alfonsa took place in the Spring of 1929 with King Alfonso XIII and Queen Victoria Eugenia attending the celebration.
