Hong Kong Disneyland
To avoid cultural insensitivity, the park was constructed with careful consideration of Chinese cultural characteristics.
Designers adhered to the rules of feng shui, and the lucky numbers of Chinese numerology were used as often as possible (especially the number 8). The number 4 was avoided as much as possible, even going so far as to label the fourth floor as the fifth floor in hotels.
Cultural differences at Hong Kong's Disneyland
Walt Disney Imagineering designed Hong Kong Disneyland, which was based on the original 1954 plan for Disneyland in California. The project included four lands: Main Street USA, Fantasyland, Adventureland, and Tomorrowland.
Over the years, extra theme parks were added: Grizzly Gulch, Mystic Point, Toy Story Land, and World of Frozen.
