Chalets Nebesa
Chalets Nebesa is an idyllic refuge in the middle of unspoiled nature in Kobarid, in the Slovenian Alpine region of the western part of the country. Nebasa means "heaven" in Slovenian, which is a fitting name once you open your eyes in the morning to a sea of clouds sitting right below you.
Hidden in the picturesque Soča Valley, Nebesa Chalets offers a secluded, eco-friendly retreat in one of Slovenia's most stunning natural settings.
The story of Nebesa began a hundred years ago when the slopes of Matajur and Kuk mountains were used for mowing and grazing in the summer and for skiing in the winter.
A ski lodge was built 900 meters above sea level on the slope of Kuk mountain high above Soča valley to cater to winter sports lovers. However, the popular ski resort fell into disrepair in the late 1990s due to winters getting milder and milder. It was at this location that Katja and Bojan built Nebesa.
In 2003, on the site of the former ski lodge, Katja and Bojan Roš set an example for Slovenian tourism with a boutique, green, and very personal eco-resort.
Their establishment received four architectural awards in its first year. Fifteen years later, their children Maja and Samo continue to run the Alpine family business.
These minimalist log cabins, perched on a hilltop, are designed to blend into the landscape and offer an incredible view of the valley and surrounding mountains.
The estate focuses on self-sufficiency, using solar energy and natural materials to reduce their environmental impact. With heat pumps and a solar power plant, Chalets Nebesa is a self-sufficient resort.
The Nebesa getaway has only four 55 m2 houses designed for four couples.
The price of your stay includes:
• Breakfast buffet, snacks, homemade delicacies - prosciutto, homemade salami, Tolmin cheese and house wine from the family's wine cellar, craft beer, and soft drinks
• Use of wellness with Finnish (with aromatherapy), herbal, and infrared saunas
• Use of gym, communal room with fireplace, and use of mountain bikes
The cottage has no additional beds apart from the double bed in the gallery (180x210 cm, which can be separated into two single beds).
The wellness area is shared among resort guests. However, you have the option to reserve a private time slot, during which the mini spa will be exclusively available for your use.
The wellness features a Finnish sauna, herbal sauna, and infrared sauna, as well as a dining corner and a massage area. Additionally, there is a gym located next to the spa.
The resort is located nearly a thousand meters above sea level and offers stunning views of the peaks of the Julian Alps, the Triglav National Park, and the emerald river Soča in the valley.
Chalets Nebesa is run by a multigenerational family and their cute Bernese Mountain Dog, Ash, who loves to roam freely on the Alpine property.
The highlight of Nebesa is obviously the insane mountaintop location with views to die for.
