England isn’t best known for its sunshine. It does occur but is usually unreliable. Thank God, then, for the Beach Sun Retreat; the UK’s only holiday location featuring year-round sunlight. This is courtesy of the sun room featuring “Real Sunlight”, a Swedish invention that mimics natural sunlight with all the nasty UV rays filtered out.

The sun room is decorated with beach murals, potted palms, and a gentle waterfall feature; you can choose your climate from Miami, Mauritius, or Bali and relax to the sound of an ambient beach CD. It is part of a larger open-plan space and dining room with DJ decks and state-of-the-art speakers. The rooms are stylish with large beds, fireplaces, and roll-top baths. There is a cinema room with velvet seats and a popcorn machine. Outside there is a garden with a fishpond and trampoline, all just a short walk away from a real sandy beach.
